background

The Office of National Statistics (GOV.UK) commissioned WORTH Internet Systems to develop a field support officer self help facility application. The application serves as a mobile resource to assist users with any questions they may have concerning their role and responsibilities. Instructions support intuitive navigation. This places the user, and their needs, at the centre of the experience.

challenge

Revise all SME content in line with a consistent voice and tone, based on the GDS Style Guide.

solution

Information is accessed quickly and efficiently with navigable prompts and headings, and subject matter expert are written in Plain English without jargon.

how I helped

I established clear rules and terms to be used across the application and in future additions by first creating a Style Guide based on the UK's Government Digital Standards. I revised articles provided by SMEs to ensure they were in Plain English, readable, and had a consistent and predictable organisation, so users (Field Workers) could access information they need quickly.
